For an administration so obsessed with facts and transparency, Biden sure has elected some interesting “advisors” to the White House. The type that seem to be driven by emotions over facts.
Just consider White House “advisor” Cedric Richmond, who apparently demands reparations “now,” even before the results of an undoubtedly biased Democrat-spearheaded “study” are released.
“We have to start breaking down systemic racism and barriers that have held people of color back and especially African-Americans who were enslaved … We have to do stuff now to improve the plight, status, future, and empowerment of Black people all around the country …
We don’t want to wait on a study that we even support … We’re going to start acting now.” [Source: The Daily Wire]
My, oh my. So, in other words, Richmond declines to “wait on a study” (i.e., supposed “facts” that are undoubtedly biased anyway) and begin “acting now.” What is he, a toddler? As only toddlers seem to get away with such exorbitant impatience.
Parents that actually parent (an admittedly rare phenomenon amongst liberals) tend to teach their children patience earlier in life, certainly before they enter grade school (when grade schools used to be open, that is), and here we have a White House “advisor” who wants massive amounts of taxpayer funds immediately allocated to reparations “now.”
And, just like a typical leftist, Mr. Richmond also felt that plagiarizing other leftists’ ideas, albeit with a prejudiced twist, is an appropriate action to take towards these “reparations.”
“If you start talking about free college tuition to HBCUs and you start talking about free community college in Title I and all of those things, I think that you are well on your way. Those are doable.” [Source: The Daily Wire]
In other words, Richmond presented a racist version of Bernie Sanders’s “Free College For All” plan. As eccentric as Mr. Sanders can be, one has to at least credit him for never making race a factor for his “Free College For All” plan, at least not publicly, anyway.
Fairly frightening when Biden’s “advisors” make individuals like Sanders appear relatively reasonable in comparison (key emphasis on “relatively”). Plus, it looks like Biden (or, more accurately, Kamala) just may have done a whole lot of (non-transparent) backchanneling with BLM, which would certainly explain not only the insanity, but the apparent urgency to act “now.”
One really does wonder about the urgency …
Perhaps Mr. Richmond suspects that a rather massive red wave is coming in 2022, which would certainly explain why he wants things done “now.” Then again, since Richmond is acting as though checks and balances don’t exist and that Biden has all the political power possessed by his ultimate puppet master, Xi of China, it isn’t that surprising that the civically uninformed types like Richmond will demand things immediately.
Patience, not to mention the truth, do not appear to constitute values in the leftist world. And any talk of “unity” now is frankly a desecration of the word. Seems like Americans will be hearing a whole lot more about “reparations” than “unity” anyway, at the rate this catastrophe of an administration is going.
As horrifying as the emotionally charged plans for reparations may appear, the one saving grace is that the Senate just might be able to block this insanity before it reaches fruition in the form of written laws, at least if a super majority is required.
After all, GOP Senator Tom Cotton recently announced that Biden’s incredibly asinine amnesty program (i.e., the most blatant bribery for votes ever) likely will not reach the supermajority in the Senate needed to pass; one can only hope that this crazy plan for “reparations” meets the same (hopeful) outcome.
And while the GOP has not exactly proven itself to be full of people with an actual backbone (never mind consistent values), one can at least hope that the RINOs will be self-serving enough to vote against Biden’s nonsense, if only to conserve their own highly lucrative, highly beneficial positions for another term.
In the meantime, 2022 cannot arrive quickly enough, as a Senate and GOP majority will help ensure that Biden (or Kamala) remain in check until 2024 … When America just might have a chance at political redemption.
