With roughly 100 days left until the election, now is not the time to piss off a significant percentage of the population in a key battleground state, and it appears that Democratic nominee Joe Biden has done exactly that. Even worse, he’s managed to piss off a significant percentage of a minority population in Florida: Hispanics.
According to a 7-page document obtained by the Miami Herald, a large group of Hispanics in Central Florida, predominantly Puerto Ricans, have launched biter complaints about the Biden campaign’s action, or, more accurately, inaction in one of the most crucial swing states in the past several elections.
“Over 90 field organizers for the Florida Democratic Party signed a scathing letter Friday to the party’s leadership, claiming among other things that the campaign is “suppressing the Hispanic vote” in Central Florida …
This letter comes 100 days out from the general election and as recent polls show enthusiasm about voting among Latinos in battleground states like Florida could be waning in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the claims: mistreatment of field organizers, relocating trained staff members without explanation, lack of organizing resources and taking on volunteers who are then left in limbo.” [Source: Town Hall]
In other words, the Democrats are disastrously disorganized. What else is new?
Truth is, nothing seems really new, right down to the fact that the Democrats appear to (again) underestimate the power of the electorate vote, which was also noted in the scathing commentary on the Democratic Party in Florida.
“In a battleground state where elections are historically won by thin margins — and as presidential campaigns ramp up outreach efforts in Florida’s Hispanic communities — organizers claim that the Coordinated Campaign lacks key infrastructure and perpetuates a “toxic” work culture that is hurting morale among on-the-ground staffers.” [Source: Town Hall]
Then again, basic math is generally not an attribute that leftists have in spades.
Recalling how frequently the Democrats have wrongly criticized President Trump over being “racist” or highly prejudiced against Hispanics, it is rather odd that Biden has now been accused of suppressing the Hispanic vote in Florida.
After all, if Trump really is so unpopular amongst minorities, as the fake news talking heads love to remind their daily deceived viewers, then no reason whatsoever should exist to suppress the Hispanic vote. Unless, of course, the truth is that Trump has much greater support amongst minority voters than the media would like to admit.
Even The Atlantic, which is well-known for its ultra-liberal viewpoints, ran a story earlier in 2020 titled “Latino Support for Trump is Real,” adding that it’s “a problem for Democrats.” The author of the piece grudgingly acknowledged that President Trump, despite supposedly doing “almost everything he can to anger Latino voters,” has still managed to achieve an enviable position amongst this demographic.
“And yet, [Trump’s] support among this crucial portion of the electorate remains surprisingly consistent.” [Source: The Atlantic]
The author also criticized the Democrats’ approach, noting that the leftists focus far too much on immigration, as if that’s virtually the only issue that native Spanish speakers living in the United States are experiencing. On the contrary, Latino voters have complex needs and interests, although the Democrats prefer to busy themselves with vote accumulation rather than actual problem solving.
In contrast, Trump recognizes the spirit of industrialism and desire to work, which is not determined by skin tone or ethnic identity, but by the American spirit that animates their thoughts, actions, and beliefs.
“Being able to provide for one’s family is one of the main reasons many people—from any country—immigrate to the United States, so the fact that Trump’s rhetoric on a growing economy has found an audience is not surprising.
In Florida, for example, a poll by Equis Research showed that 57 percent of Latinos supported the way the president handled the economy. If you look at only Cuban voters from the state, that number jumps to 71 percent.” [Source: The Atlantic]
Note the following: “being able to provide for one’s family.” That means self-autonomy, and that means not depending on the impractical handouts that Democrats are always throwing out.
Ironically, the Democrats’ slipshod approach to courting the Latin vote ends up costing them more votes than anything else after making it rather clear they didn’t bother to do the most basic of due diligence on the minority groups they claim to represent.
In short, the Democrats are completely tone deaf, typically about as tone deaf as Biden was when he remarked, “you ain’t black” if you don’t vote for him, a perfect moment of Democratic entitlement that is being featured in one of President Trump’s numerous 2020 campaign ads.
Maybe the best campaign strategy would be for Joe Biden to remain (silently) in the basement, as the Democrats sure seem to be screwing up the few public presences he’s managed to make.
