Biden’s Attack On Dr. Seuss Puts Heat On Obama

Gotta hand it to Biden. It takes a whole lot of work to make someone like Obama appear reasonable, at least reasonable in the past, given how undeniably radical Obama was as a president (not to mention an imminent danger to national security).

Nonetheless, Biden has managed to do that with his apparent attack on Dr. Seuss, the same Dr. Seuss espoused by both Obama and his wife, as well as every other person who realizes, or at least realized, the value in Dr. Seuss books.

And Obama highlighted this value shortly after assuming office in 2009, where he openly celebrated Dr. Seuss for “Read Across America Day.”

Obama did not just stop in 2009, however; he continued to espouse Dr. Seuss well throughout both of his presidencies.

In 2015, while speaking to a rapt audience, Obama extolled the virtues of Dr. Seuss, using the stories as an analogy for how children could live their lives: truly tolerant and accepting. As noted by Obama himself below.

“We’re all the same, so why would we treat somebody differently just because they don’t have a star on their belly? … If I think about responsibility, I think about Horton sitting on the egg up in the tree while Lazy Mayzie’s flying off, doing whatever she wants. Know what I mean?” [Source: Fox News]

Exactly. In particular the line, “If I think about responsibility …” As that is one virtue that the Democrats apparently have zero interest in. Heck, they don’t even have interest in accountability, never mind actual responsibility. Sad, but true, state of affairs in the United States today.
Obama also highlighted the other various virtues that children are exposed to through the stories of Dr. Seuss, including kindness and hard work. Which is precisely why Obama announced that children can acquire immense wisdom from Dr. Seuss alone.

“Pretty much all the stuff you need to know is in Dr. Seuss.” [Source: Fox News]

Suffice to say, these virtues do not exactly resound throughout the riots of BLM and Antifa. Quite the opposite, actually. Maybe they didn’t read enough Dr. Seuss books while growing up.

Obama even referenced Dr. Seuss again in a 2018 interview, where he noted how Dr. Seuss continues to influence him, even after decades in politics.

“The nature of human dynamics does not change from level to level … I’ve been quoted saying this sometimes. Most of what you need to learn you can actually just, read Dr. Seuss, … It’s all pretty much there.” [Source: Fox News]

One situation is clear, however: The position on Dr. Seuss has changed quite radically in the past few years. So, what happened in 2021?

Apparently enough political pressure to make Dr. Seuss Enterprises itself bow down to the mob, considering that it has just announced that it will no longer publish six different Dr. Seuss books for “sensitivity” reasons.

“These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong … Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families …

Dr. Seuss Enterprises listened and took feedback from our audiences including teachers, academics and specialists in the field as part of our review process. We then worked with a panel of experts, including educators, to review our catalog of titles.” [Source: Breitbart]

“Feedback” from teachers and academics? As in the same ones who refuse to return to work now? The same ones who espouse Marxist ideology? Wow.

Sad day when one of America’s most beloved authors is cancelled by the mob. It’s hard to say who is next, though anyone can be a target …
