Well, well, well.
How the tide has turned between BLM and the Democrats, and the irony is that such a tide has turned over the very vaccine mandates that the “progressive” Biden administration is pitching in the first place.
Recently, three Black tourists from Texas ended up in a physical brawl with the hostess at a New York City restaurant, Carmine’s, over showing proof of vaccination status.
On its part, Carmine’s claims that it did not demonstrate any racist behavior to the tourists, but it did request vaccination records from the women, as well as their companion who joined later.
Apparently, the companion had insufficient record of vaccination status, which is when the brawl broke out.
“Last week’s violence against our staff had nothing to do with race, despite a Texas criminal defense lawyer’s false assertions to the contrary … Three female guests in the party who had shown proof of vaccination and been welcomed into the restaurant without issue then launched an entirely unprovoked, brutal attack on our hosts, one of whom continues to suffer from a concussion.” [Source: The Daily Wire]
While details of the incident remain murky, including whether or not the restaurant levied racial insults against women, what isn’t murky at all is the fact that the Biden admin is getting itself into an ironically sticky situation with BLM over its most totalitarian measures yet.
After all, how can the Biden administration claim that no ID is needed for voting, yet a vaccine card is required for eating?
Needless to say, BLM never misses a chance to rant and this is one of those times.
The Black Lives Matter’s Greater New York chapter, for instance, loudly announced that it would be launching a protest over vaccine passports, insisting such passports will be used for racist purposes.
“I believe that this New York City vaccine passport will be used to keep Black people out of spaces, and if we don’t stop it now then the police will use it as an excuse to harass and arrest our people.” [Source: The Daily Wire]
It’s also used as an excuse to harass GOP governors, as observed in the ongoing feud between Biden and DeSantis, though it’s amusing to see one of the left’s organizations start to align more with the GOP than Biden, at least in terms of vaccine mandates.
Ironically, the elitists already acknowledged that such vaccine passports may racialized, at least according to Georges Benjamin, the executive director of the American Public Health Association.
“There is a risk that people of color who were not vaccinated might be disproportionately denied services because of [vaccine mandates] … The solution to that, of course, is to get vaccinated.” [Source: The Daily Wire]
Only the left can get away with accusing the “right” of doing exactly what it’s doing, which is rather brazen discrimination.
Then again, according to CNN medical contributor Dr. Leana Wen, life needs to be “hard” for the unvaccinated.
“What we really need to do at this point is make vaccination the easy choice. It needs to be hard for people to remain unvaccinated.”[Source: Breitbart]
Well, looks like Wen will learn the hard way what happens when things are made “hard” for BLM.
BLM is likely to become even angrier when learning that illegal migrants don’t have to have any vaccination record, or, for that matter, even a negative COVID test, which Fox News Reporter Peter Doocy recently grilled White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki about.
“I have a question about what’s going on at the border is somebody asking the foreign nationals who are walking in and Del Rio, Texas and setting up camps on this side of the border for proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test?” [Source: The Daily Wire]
Psaki’s response?
“Well, let me explain to you again, Peter, how our process works. As individuals, as individuals come across the border, and they are both assessed for whether they have any symptoms, if they have symptoms they are, the intention is for them to be quarantined, that is our process. They’re not intending to stay here for a lengthy period of time. I don’t think it’s the same thing. It’s not the same thing.” [Source: The Daily Wire]
“Again?” Ms. Psaki, the Biden administration has flip-flopped so frequently it usually is a good idea to go through things “again,” as in for the first time, usually.
Plus, “they’re not intending to stay?”
Who is she kidding …
