Conservatives Warn Biden To Back Off On Gun Control — Or Else

When he isn’t busy forgetting that he’s president or flooding the southern border will illegal migrants, Biden is also enthusiastically taking aim at various constitutional rights.

And of all the amendments that Biden enjoys attacking, the Second Amendment seems to be an especially favorite target, given that he won’t stop prattling on about the need for “gun control.”

And, given the fact that a Democrat-controlled House and Senate very well may end up passing a variety of asinine federal laws designed to undercut American citizens’ right to bear arms, the Governor of Missouri, Mike Parson, has decided that he won’t be taking any chances with a Harris-Biden administration.

Consequently, the “Second Amendment Preservation Act” has arisen in the state of Missouri as a result.

Needless to say, Parson was very pointed about the purpose of promptly passing the “Second Amendment Preservation Act,” also known as HB 85.

“Missouri’s HB 85 puts those in Washington D.C. on notice that here in our state we support responsible, law-abiding gun owners, and that we oppose government overreach and any unlawful efforts to limit our access to firearms.” [Source: The Daily Wire]

In other words: Back off, Biden.

It is quite alarming how Biden will casually ramble on about essentially abolishing 2nd Amendment rights, and it is also quite duplicitous in the way he goes about it.

After all, Biden may claim one law is just a “small restriction,” but what’s to stop 100 other laws from taking place shortly thereafter, also all posited as “small restrictions?”

Just look how out of hand the pandemic became, after all—first it was “just a few weeks” of lockdown, and those “few weeks” rapidly stretched into 15+ months, particularly in ultra-leftist states.

So one can only imagine what a slippery slope Democrat-led federal legislation regarding gun control could transform into.

For this reason, Parson is proactively countering Biden before Biden can slam the states with a slew of anti-2nd Amendment mania.

On top of that, Parson is also mandating police departments to remain accountable to the new law in Missouri, though something suggests that law enforcement likely favors Republicans over Democrats, especially now.

“The new law allows state gun laws to surpass federal gun laws and holds police departments liable if an officer violates someone’s second amendment rights … If someone’s second amendment right is violated, local law enforcement could pay $50,000.” [Source: The Daily Wire]

Thank you, Mr. Parson, for recalling the “second amendment rights” that American citizens are more than entitled to. In addition, thank you for making it more than abundantly clear to Biden that the federal government cannot (yet) totally supersede states’ rights.

“[This law] draws a line in the sand and demonstrates our commitment to reject any attempt by the federal government to circumvent the fundamental right Missourians have to keep and bear arms to protect themselves and their property.” [Source: The Daily Wire]

With any luck, other states will follow Parson’s lead, just as numerous states have now mirrored one another in terms of passing legislation designed to protect girls in sports, as well as to protect residents against state-mandated vaccine passports.

Even for individuals who are not terribly passionate about Second Amendment rights, at least relative to others, it is important to remember that gun control measures are rarely about guns alone; instead, they constitute another form of authoritarian government control, as indicated by Tucker Carlson.

“Gun control is entirely fraudulent. The Democratic Party claims that guns cause violence. That’s the core claim, and it is a lie. It’s provably untrue. The places in this country that have the most guns and the loosest controls on those guns also have the least gun violence and the fewest killings …

Anyone who tries to restrict your legally owned firearms is not trying to make America safer. The point is to disarm you and strip you of your autonomy, your power, your right to self-defense. Gun control is not about guns. Gun control is about who controls America … Those are the stakes in the gun control debate. It’s not about guns, it’s about who runs the country.” [Source: Fox News]

Just like “politically correct” speech is really little more than a thinly veiled attempt to rob people entirely of their First Amendment rights, including freedom of speech, expression, and religion.

Thankfully, Governor Parson has taken a clear stand against an obvious government takeover attempt, and one can only hope that other governors will follow shortly thereafter.
