This week, DeSantis has gone two for one, which of course means double the fun when it comes to seeing snowflake-spearheaded tantrums.
The first action that he took was basically kicking the unemployed off of their overly broken in couches and informing them that they need to start actually looking for a job after 15 months or more of … inactivity.
Needless to say, DeSantis is not amused by the willfully long-term unemployed.
“Normally, when you’re getting unemployment, the whole idea is that’s temporary, and you need to be looking for work to be able to get off unemployment … It was a disaster, so we suspended those job search requirements. I think it’s pretty clear now — we have an abundance of job openings.” [Source: The Washington Examiner]
Alas, in spite of the “abundance” of openings, looks like more than one likely liberal has gotten a little too comfortable on the couch.
Also, “normally” most people don’t intend to subsist on minimum wage their entire lives, especially if they decide to have three or more children, which is precisely why arguments for a seemingly infinite minimum wage absolutely fly in the face of any reasonable sense of supply and demand (especially when robots are so much more efficient and less prone to rioting).
However, it seems that the new “normal” now (again, thanks Democrats) is to apparently “compete” for the highest level of unemployment, which suddenly makes those willing to executive minimum responsibilities for minimum wages appear “hardworking.”
What a nation underneath Democrats!
Regardless, DeSantis got everything right in his new initiative, aside from the overly generous five job applications per week. It should really be more like five job applications per day.
After all, what are they doing otherwise? “Protesting?”
In addition to his movements against the willfully unemployed, DeSantis has also taken fierce aim at the increased push (literally) to shove transgender individuals into women’s sports.
DeSantis, like most other conservatives, is rather fed up with the Democrats’ invented biology (just like their invented history) and decided to mark the first day of Pride Month by signing off on legislation that clearly bans transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports.
And, just like a true Trump ally, DeSantis made absolutely no qualms about his decision.
“I can tell you that in Florida, girls are going to play girls sports and boys are going to play boys sports … We believe in the state of Florida of protecting the fairness and integrity of women’s athletics.” [Source: The Washington Examiner]
Take that, Democrats. And enjoy your ironically biased sports in your own state.
Of course, some liberals in Florida had to start yapping almost immediately, notably Democratic State Rep Carlos Smith, who immediately threw a hissy fit on social media.
“Appalling … First day of LGBTQ Pride Month and [DeSantis] signs SB 1028 which bans trans kids from school sports. FHSAA has allowed trans kids to participate in FL since 2013 with ZERO problems. This fuels transphobia and puts vulnerable kids at risk for no good reason.” [Source: The Washington Examiner]
Well, Mr. Carlos Smith, here’s what’s really appalling:
Anna Van Bellinghen, a Belgian weightlifter, noted that having to compete against a transgender athlete in the Olympics clearly comes at a massive cost to all competitors, regardless of the political brownie points organizers may win with an extreme segment of the population.
“Anyone that has trained weightlifting at a high level knows this to be true in their bones … Why is it still a question whether two decades, from puberty to the age of 35, with the hormonal system of a man also would give an advantage [against women]?”
[Source: The New York Post]
Well, it’s a question now because American Democrats basically dictated it to be so, unfortunately. At least the Olympics was able to get away with banning open BLM demonstrations (for now).
In addition, Van Bellinghen also prefaced her statements by indicating her full support for New Zealand competitor Laurel Hubbard’s decision to transition from male to female, but she did not believe it was fair for Hubbard to compete against biological women.
Especially, since, you know, Hubbard predictably smashed former weightlifting records for “women” in the Olympics to oblivion.
Who would have possibly thought that? Still find DeSantis’s decision so “appalling,” Mr. Smith?
