Fauci Denounces Court’s Decision On Masks

The nation’s top medical advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci, recently blasted a federal judge’s decision to overturn mask mandates. Fauci assailed the effective cancellation of the federally imposed mask mandate as an “unfortunate” development.

Fauci has enjoyed prominence the public eye for well over two years due to the ongoing drama surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and he appears displeased by the ruling of Trump-appointed judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle.

The chief medical advisor for the White House declared that Mizelle’s ruling “superseded the authority of the CDC,” though he also did not make any mention of the number of Americans who presently have access to treatments and vaccines, which would obviate the need for continued mask mandates.

“Well, I follow the CDC guidelines,” Fauci remarked in response to USA Today’s inquiries about Mizelle’s ruling.

“And the CDC wanted to extend the mandate for the 15-day period beyond April 18, up to May 3,” Fauci continued, “the reason they wanted to do that was they wanted to see what the pattern of infection is during this bit of a surge we’re seeing.”

Unsurprisingly, the CDC promptly challenged Mizelle’s ruling, urging the Department of Justice to appeal the court’s decision.

Interestingly, the CDC claimed such action was necessary in order to protect the “public health authority” of the CDC, rather than claiming the action was necessary for “public health,” suggesting that the appeal is based on political power, rather than peer-reviewed science.

“CDC will continue to monitor public health conditions to determine whether such an order remains necessary,” the agency continued, adding that it fervently believes in the “lawful order” regarding mask mandates, as well as one “well within CDC’s legal authority to protect public health.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki also became testy over inquiries regarding masks, going as far as to snap at one Fox News reporter, one of several incidents with reporters that Psaki has had in recent weeks.

“I’m not a doctor, you’re not a doctor, that I’m aware of,” Psaki snarled.
