While it is easy to begin feeling really down about the state of affairs with the U.S. Government, it is always good to reminds one’s self of the wide array of different conservatives that have emerged in the wake of Trump’s influence, including much younger conservatives.
One such conservative is Lauren Boebert, a GOP Rep from Colorado, who has made her views regarding the 2nd Amendment, including her support for it, extremely clear. Unfortunately, Democrats do not like the fact that Boebert has made her views extremely clear, which is quite evident the way she was treated in a recent virtual call by supposed Democrat colleagues in Congress.
In fact, Democrats apparently refused to even engage in any real policy discussions. Instead, they elected to criticize some of the most sacred values of Americans, as enshrined in the Constitution, as well as insult a number of other committee members.
Anything to get out of discussing real policy, apparently. Lauren Boebert clearly outlines the outrageous behavior, including her rightful shock at the unprofessional proceedings.
“Rather than having a productive debate about policy … Democrats were too busy mocking the Constitution and disrespecting the everyday Americans that I was elected to represent …
This was my first committee hearing and the chairman couldn’t stop attacking, degrading, and insulting committee members … I am busy fighting against the left’s real fetish for power and stripping Americans of their constitutional rights.” [Source: Fox News]
It would be rather stunning behavior to observe in any committee hearing, much less one’s first committee hearing. And, of course, the target of several insults was Boebert herself, further underscoring just how vicious the swamp really is.
Just consider the nasty commentary from U.S. Rep. Jared Huffman, who hails from one of the ultimate bastions of leftism: California.
“If somebody wants to have a shrine to their gun fetish as a Zoom backdrop in their private life they can do that … But this is our ‘hearing room,’ and at some point we will get past the COVID epidemic, and we’ll all start showing up in person, and our safety and our ability to conduct business civilly without feeling threatened is a relevant consideration, unfortunately.” [Source: Fox News]
“Conduct business civilly?” Have the Democrats looked at the news recently? As their behavior is hardly the embodiment of civil …
Moreover, Huffman was referring to the fact that Boebert dared to have a “shrine” of guns in the background, which apparently Huffman took serious issue with. Then again, since the Committee was apparently insulting the Constitution, Huffman would take issue with 2nd Amendment.
What’s also disturbing is the fact that disgraced former Democrat Rep Katie Porter, also predictably hailing from California, also weighed
“I always thought my dirty dishes piled up and accumulating bacteria were the most dangerous thing in a Zoom background.” [Source: Fox News]
Eh, ok. Why in the world would Ms. Porter have “accumulating bacteria” in her sink? Not exactly the greatest way to prevent the spread of viruses?
In addition, Nancy Pelosi has also indirectly targeted Boebert through the implementation of metal detectors, and Pelosi made it clear that the metal detectors were being installed in order to deal with “many” Republicans.
Because Democrats are known for being peaceful.
“Many House Republicans have disrespected our heroes by verbally abusing them and refusing to adhere to basic precautions keeping members of our Congressional community, including the Capitol Police, safe …
It is tragic that this step is necessary, but the Chamber of the People’s House must and will be safe.” [Source: USA Today]
Interesting commentary, Pelosi. What’s even more interesting is that Pelosi herself dodged the metal detectors she insisted upon in the first place, then refused to admit error.
Kind of like her hair salon adventure over the summer.
One can only hope that Ms. Boebert holds strong against the Democrats …
