Just when you thought Democrats couldn’t stoop any lower, they have once again managed to out-stoop themselves by launching a full scale attack on Republican Senator Tim Scott.
While quite a few of their comments were completely inappropriate (as they usually are), the openly racist commentary on Senator Scott really is the most deplorable of all.
Especially coming from such a “progressive” and “inclusive” party.
The origins of the attacks on Senator Scott trace back to his rebuttal of Biden’s recent congressional speech, in which Scott portrayed the views of himself and the GOP as a whole.
As part of his response, Scott indicated that the United States is not a racist country; on the contrary, Scott finds that he faces intolerance not due to the color of his skin, but rather due to his political beliefs, which are inconvenient for the Democrat Party.
“America is not a racist country …
I’ve also experienced a different kind of intolerance … I get called Uncle Tom and the N-word by progressives, by liberals. Just last week, a national newspaper suggested my family’s poverty was actually a privilege.” [Source: Fox News]
Wow. It takes some serious mental gymnastics to claim that Scott’s poverty can be considered a “privilege.” Exactly how does that jive with the “white privilege” narrative being simultaneously pushed by the Democrat Party?
Looks like Senator Scott committed the ultimate sin by daring to suggest America is not racist, however, despite the fact that he himself is a minority who worked incredibly hard to arrive at the position that he is in today.
As he was promptly attacked on Twitter by black and white leftist activist who assailed him as an “Uncle Tim,” a vicious play on the well-known derogatory phrase “Uncle Tom,” which is typically reserved for black conservatives and others who defy the Democrat norm.
One of the most egregious examples of such a white elitist’s commentary includes that of Joy Behar, one of the many insufferable “hosts” on the ultra-liberal, ultra-irresponsible, and, above all, ultra-mind numbing “entertainment” show The View.
According to Ms. “White Privilege” herself, Scott simply doesn’t understand “systemic racism.”
“Now, Tim Scott, he does not seem to understand — and a lot of them don’t seem to understand — the difference between a racist country and systemic racism. They don’t seem to get the difference …
Yes, maybe it’s not a racist country. Maybe Americans, the majority, are not racist. But we live in a country with systemic racism … The fact that Tim Scott cannot acknowledge this is appalling. How can you go out there and say that when you just said two minutes ago that you were the object and the victim of discrimination?” [Source: Fox News]
In a word: Wow. Apparently Ms. Behar knows “racism” more than Scott does. Isn’t she just another adorably victimized, manufactured television personality.
On top of Ms. Behar’s sneering dismissal of Scott, BLM and the NAACP conveniently decided to remain silent while Scott was being assailed on Twitter, though they sure are quick to essentially call for the execution of virtually any police officer involved in resolving or dealing with any remotely minority-related crime.
Furthermore, Twitter, which claims to want to create “a safe space” for everyone, apparently didn’t feel very compelled to create “a safe space” for Senator Scott, given that the “Uncle Tim” commentary trended like wildfire, unabated.
Apparently, everything but the truth enjoys “a safe space” on Twitter.
Scott himself acknowledges that he continues to endure such vicious attacks a result of his beliefs, though he clearly will not abandon them.
“The left has… doubled down that they are going to, not attack my policies, but they’re literally attacking the color of my skin … You can’t step out of your lane according to the liberal elite left.” [Source: Fox News]
One really does wonder about the level of vitriol leveled against Senator Scott in particular, especially given that he has largely been a refrained, reasonable, and rational presence in the Senate, one hardly known for frequent incendiary remarks.
Perhaps Scott poses one of the greatest threats to the Democrat Party because he is a living, walking example of the veracity of the American Dream, rather than the communist dystopia that the leftists are shoving down Americans’ throats …
