Despite all the nonstop furor in the media between both sides of the political divide, a shocking development took place in the Senate this week:
Republicans and Democrats actually, and unanimously, voted in favor of pushing Biden to declassify all information regarding the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Even more stunningly, this unanimous vote took place based on a bill introduced by Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), who has just attracted widespread mockery in the media for his views regarding the COVID vaccine.
Nonetheless, Paul provided clearly compelling reasoning for the passage of the proposed amendment.
“We don’t know whether the pandemic started in a lab in Wuhan or evolved naturally … While many still deny funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan, experts believe otherwise. The passage of my amendment ensures that this never happens in the future. No taxpayer money should have ever been used to fund gain-of-function research in Wuhan, and now we permanently have put it to a stop.” [Source: Townhall]
Thus, in spite of the media’s snarky commentary, the Senate apparently got its act together temporarily enough to vote on
This bipartisan development is surprising, to say the least, but it is also highly welcomed during a time when national security appears more critically endangered than ever.
Senator Mike Braun (R-IN), also provided further justification for the amendment, citing a Wall Street Journal report regarding the notorious institute in China.
“Over the weekend, the Wall Street Journal revealed three researchers from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology became sick enough in November 2019 that they sought hospital care, according to a previously undisclosed U.S. intelligence report. Though many scientists, including former CDC Director Robert Redfield, have been outspoken about the possibility that the COVID-19 pandemic began with a lab leak, the media and others have denied that possibility from the beginning.” [Source: Townhall]
Braun is exactly correct.
The media was far too obsessed with its self-inflicted Trump Derangement Syndrome to truly focus on the real enemy, which is quite clearly the China-spawned COVID that oh-so-conveniently crippled Western economies while China’s own roared ahead.
And while the media may be demonstrating the greatest amnesia ever, Braun made it clear that the time has long since passed for a real investigation to be launched into the real origins of COVID.
“Now that it is clear that the lab leak theory is completely viable, Americans need real answers. We will not get those answers from another botched investigation from the World Health Organization, or more cover-ups by China’s Communist regime. Americans have been through so much from this virus. Many of us have lost friends and loved ones, many have lost businesses they’ve spent their lives building.”[Source: Townhall]
You hear that, Biden?
Remember how the vast majority of your “campaigning” (which, admittedly, was not terribly memorable) centered on what an apparent disaster Trump was in fighting the virus?
Well, not only did the Trump administration effectively bestow upon the Biden administration the ability to vaccinate so many Americans in the first place, but it is now quite clear that Trump was right all along in indicating who is truly to blame for the COVID crisis.
And, even more unfortunately, since the media literally has to oppose everything Trump does, it could be easily argued that the media itself has caused the most deadly damage to American security.
The same media, of course, also worships Biden and protects Hunter at all costs, no matter how many of his nefarious business dealings sail to the surface, so Biden will clearly never call them out for anything.
After all, they’re one of the biggest reasons that Biden is in power in the first place.
On his part, Biden has apparently decided that endlessly placating China may not be the best national security approach, and he’s finally deigned to press the nation a bit more on the real role that it played in the COVID tragedy.
“I have now asked the Intelligence Community to redouble their efforts to collect and analyze information that could bring us closer to a definitive conclusion, and to report back to me in 90 days. As part of that report, I have asked for areas of further inquiry that may be required, including specific questions for China …
The United States will also keep working with like-minded partners around the world to press China to participate in a full, transparent, evidence-based international investigation and to provide access to all relevant data and evidence.” [Source: Townhall]
Would have been nice had you called for this quite some time ago, Biden.
After all, who knows how much evidence China has destroyed at this point …
