Southern Border Slams Shut Under Abbott’s Watch, See How…

While much of the world has been distracted by the total fiasco in Afghanistan, Abbott continues to deal with his own fiasco south of the border.

After all, Border “Czar” Kamala decided that sprinting off the Singapore was apparently a better option to take during the Afghanistan withdrawal than actually bothering to visit the border.

Though, to be fair, if she were to show up she’d probably just lecture Abbott about “root causes,” so it’s just as well she opted to do nothing in Asia instead of doing nothing in America.

Abbott, however, is doing something, starting with the closure of multiple points of border entry that have become completely and totally overwhelmed by migrants.

“The sheer negligence of the Biden Administration to do their job and secure the border is appalling. I have directed the Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard to surge personnel and vehicles to shut down six points of entry along the southern border to stop these caravans from overrunning our state …

The border crisis is so dire that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection is requesting our help as their agents are overwhelmed by the chaos. Unlike President Biden, the State of Texas remains committed to securing our border and protecting Americans.” [Source: The Daily Wire]

Amen!

Abbott also has help from local state residents, who, unlike residents in California, apparently have zero interest in recalling Abbott.

Then again, unlike Newsom, Abbott actually cares about Texans, which contrasts strongly with Newsom’s “care” for Californians.

For instance, a group of 123 homeowners have also agreed for the state to erect 8-foot tall fences with barbed wire at the edge of the properties, all in an effort to stem the flow of chaos created by Biden and his ineffectual Border “Czar” Kamala.

At any moment, Biden will probably start spouting off about Texas again, just as he did over Texas’s recent abortion legislation.

And, in light of the reports of the Biden administration,

That said, other Congressional Representatives haven’t forgotten the pain that governors within border states feel, especially given the eye-popping number of crossings that took place in August alone.

For example, Rep. Steve Scalise notes the troubling trend of increased illegal migration, coupled with the Biden administration’s massive amnesty push (buried in yet another multi-trillion dollar bill).

“There were 208,887 migrant encounters at the southern border just last month alone. That’s up 317% over last August. Remember when Dems claimed the surge would end in the summer? What’s worse: They’re pushing mass amnesty—which will encourage even more illegal crossings.” [Source: OANN]

Well, apparently that’s one way in which Biden has “surpassed” Trump. Illegal border crossings up more than 300 percent in Biden’s August relative to Trump’s August.

What an “achievement.”

This achievement is especially darkened considering the observations of Joe Frank Martinez, Sheriff of Val Verde County, who recently viewed multiple thousands of migrants gathered under a bridge, waiting for entry to the United States.

“These people are basically turning themselves in to Border Patrol, and Border Patrol has no room for them at the Border Patrol station … They’re technically not in custody. They come up, they’re given a ticket for placement, and they’re laying around waiting for a bus to pick them up …

It is not safe, it is not healthy, for all involved, for the people that are down there underneath the bridge. It is a situation that in my opinion has gone south and it’s not going to get any better until somebody does something.” [Source: The Blaze]

Fortunately for Texans, Abbott has done something, and one can only hope that Biden will do nothing to undo it.
