Stanford Professor Stuns With The Truth On Lockdowns

Looks like the most elitist institutions do have some truly bright, and brave, professors after all. Particularly in the case of Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a medical school professor at Stanford University who has openly crucified lockdowns in response to the COVID pandemic.

Recently, Dr. Bhattacharya did not hold back his real views regarding lockdowns at all, effectively making the ultra-leftist governors and other political representatives in the United States, not to mention the truckloads of them throughout Europe and Australia, look rather incompetent.

When reviewing Dr. Bhattacharya’s commentary, something suggests that he has a bit more knowledge and experience than all of the other politicians currently on the horse of being a mini dictator and effectively forcing people to self-imprison in their own homes.

The exact type of behavior that Dr. Bhattacharya finds deplorable, as evidenced throughout a document he co-authored, titled the “Great Barrington Declaration.”

“[COVID lockdowns] are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden …

Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice … keeping these measures in place until a vaccine is available will cause irreparable damage, with the underprivileged disproportionately harmed.” [Source: The Blaze]

Could this document please be forwarded to Ms. Psaki? After all, her idea of a “grand and ambitious plan” is schools reopening for a grand total of one day per week.

And, while Democrats are clearly averse to any facts that remotely contradict anything they say, Dr. Bhattacharya provides “two basic facts” that have grounded the very logical, very science-based declaration.

“One is that people who are older have a much higher risk from dying from COVID than people who are younger … So the first plank of the Great Barrington Declaration: let’s protect the vulnerable …

The other idea is that the lockdowns themselves impose great harm on people. Lockdowns are not a natural normal way to live.” [Source: The Blaze]

They are definitely not “natural” living conditions, unless one is in prison, and even there, it hardly feels “normal.” In addition, most political representatives themselves refuse to follow their own lockdown measures, laughing their way through Michelin-starred dinners and private jet travel, all while simultaneoulsly lecturing Americans about gathering in groups of 5 or less.

Dr. Bhattacharya also calls for vastly more logical “Focused Protection” in the declaration, which echoes the thoughts of numerous other scientists, virologists, and individuals with more of a clue than say, Pelosi.

“The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity, is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk. We call this Focused Protection.” [Source: Great Barrington Declaration]

Lastly, Dr. Bhattacharya also made his thoughts regarding what the rest of the world should be doing right now crystal clear, and by that, he means normal living for the vast majority of the population.

“Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed …

Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity.” [Source: Great Barrington Declaration]

Absolutely fantastic, science-based reasoning, which the Harris-Biden administration is apparently allergic to. How much different the nation would be if the current president thought less like Biden and more like Bhattacharya …
