According to The Oregonian, U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams cited that the cost of repairing Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse, as well as four other federal facilities, will exceed $2M in all likelihood, as reported by Fox News. In addition, Portland’s ICE facility, the Gus J. Solomon U.S. Courthouse, the Edith Green-Wendall Wyatt Federal Building, and the Pioneer Courthouse also faced significant damage.
Breitbart News has covered the riots extensively, starting from last summer all the way through the protests and riots that persisted in the Portland area after the inauguration. While the protests were initially believed to be anti-police and anti-Trump, the rioters have now taken aim at Biden instead, even after his official swearing in on January 20.
The Democrat Party Headquarters also faced Antifa attacks in Portland on repeated occasions, with at least one protest including signs proclaiming “We don’t want Biden – We want revenge” and “We are Ungovernable.”
Biden remained largely silent on Antifa-related attacks on Portland’s federal buildings during his campaign. After the January 20 protests, the White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, insisted that protesting peacefully is “a cornerstone of our democracy” but “looting” and “smashing windows” constitute “totally unacceptable” actions.
As part of their continuous riots in Portland, Antifa hurled commercial grade fireworks and Molotov cocktails at the police, as well as other law enforcement officials, who were trying to protect federal buildings from damage.
Aside from the attacks on government facilities, Antifa also launched assaults on multiple businesses, statues, and counter-protestors.
