President Trump has done it again. In spite of all the calamities and all the destruction that the United States continues to endure from the militant leftists, Trump has managed to continue encouraging and inspiring Americans with his unwavering focus on their well-being.
His latest move, which will undoubtedly draw more criticism from the fake news media, will undoubtedly bring a smile to the face of hardworking, American homeowners who have seen their real estate values decimated by an Obama-era policy that increased crime and rendered previously safe neighborhoods largely uninhabitable for purposes of raising a law-abiding family.
After a careful consideration of the facts, as well as the long-standing issues plaguing the policy over the years, Trump has unilaterally rescinded the rule.
“I am happy to inform all of the people living their Suburban Lifestyle Dream that you will no longer be bothered or financially hurt by having low income housing built in your neighborhood…
…Your housing prices will go up based on the market, and crime will go down. I have rescinded the Obama-Biden AFFH Rule. Enjoy! [Source: Fox News]
This announcement is undoubtedly one of the brightest spots in a news cycle otherwise filled with leftist violence and big tech surveillance.
Obama and Biden’s hilariously woke policy, which sounds like it comes straight out of a Marxist college classroom, was named “The Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” rule, otherwise known as the AFFH rule. As part of this rule, jurisdictions that receive federal housing funds were tasked with scrutinizing areas that lacked racial diversity, and they were essentially forced to have low-income housing constructed near the homes of individuals who worked an entire lifetime to afford personal home ownership.
Needless to say, throwing the income requirement out the window, which is essentially what Obama and Biden did, does not always encourage the most law-abiding citizens in the world to move to that area, but it certainly encourages a whole lot of opportunist criminals to potentially segue into a new section of town. After all, casing American homes is one of criminals’ favorite activities, as they know Americans will be gone the vast majority of the day to work like responsible, law-abiding citizens.
Or is working now solely within the domain of the ever-popular “white privilege” that the media loves to espouse?
Regardless, Trump has announced that AFFH rule has been revoked, which means that Americans can breathe more easily knowing that their neighborhood may not suddenly transform into a cesspool of crime, courtesy of the whims of some ultra-“progressive” politician.
What will be really interesting to observe is whether or not the media calls out Trump’s latest move as “racist,” since they seem so eager to slap that label on virtually anyone. In fact, that label is now slapped so liberally across any remotely dissenting view, even views that are only tangentially related to race.
Too bad that the AFFH rule was only under fire in the first place due to a prominent Black politician in Trump’s Cabinet, Ben Carson.
Ben Carson, in sharp contrast to the Ivy League Obama, actually did encounter severe strife early on in his life. Growing up in poverty and surrounded by crime, Carson worked diligently year after year, ultimately becoming a surgeon with John Hopkins credentials.
While Carson initially ran as a potential Republican contender for president in 2016, he gracefully bowed out as Trump gained steam. Trump, given his focus on justice and equanimity, offered Carson the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development position, which Carson gratefully accepted.
Consequently, it was Carson, along with Trump, who first raised the issue about serious problems with AFFH; thus, it would be a little difficult for the media to argue that Trump’s decision is “racist.”
Approximately one week ago, Carson referred to the AFFH rule as “unworkable and ultimately a waste of time for localities to comply with,” and he also firmly asserted that “Washington has no business dictating what is best to meet your local community’s unique need.”
Biden, whose primary campaign tactic seems to be marketing himself as Obama 2.0, has predictably asserted that he will preserve yet another relic of the Obama past, as if the United States is so eager to return to the days of Obama.
Heck, even the leftists aren’t eager to return to the days of Obama anymore, as he’s become unacceptably “centrist” in their view in recent times. For instance, The Guardian published an opinion piece last year that labeled Obama as “the ultimate centrist dad.”
Biden may want to reconsider positing himself as “Obama 2.0” for 2020, as political parties on both sides within the United States have moved in a vastly different direction, and everyone seems to know it but the Democrats’ presidential candidate.
How interesting the next few months will be.
