President Trump has taken yet another courageous stand against the rabid left and their co-conspirators, the fake news media, in refusing to provide Minnesota with FEMA disaster relief money. As revealed recently, the governor of Minnesota made the astonishing request for FEMA money to clean up the mess left behind by rioters and criminals who should have been stopped in the first place.
On a localized level, the Minneapolis City Council has resoundingly proven its hypocrisy already by agreeing to defund the police. This action automatically reduced protection for law-abiding citizens during a time of serious uptick in violent crime, which is precisely why the ultra-selfish City Council representatives obtained private security for themselves … all at taxpayers’ expense, of course.
Police were all but ordered to “stand down” while homes and businesses were destroyed and while law-abiding citizens cowered under the prevailing threat of being killed just for appearing “privileged,” even if in reality they are everything but. In short, the absolute disaster in Minnesota could have been avoided, but it wasn’t, just so the Minneapolis politicians could preen for the fake news media. In late May, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey boasted that the city was incredibly strong, in contrast to President Trump’s claims.
“Weakness is pointing your finger at somebody else during a time of crisis … Donald Trump knows nothing about the strength of Minneapolis,” Frey said. “We are strong as hell. This is a difficult time, yes, but you better be damn sure that we’re going to get through this.” [Source: The Hill]
This rather confident declaration contrasted nicely with the burning backdrop of Minneapolis, making one wonder exactly where “the strength of Minneapolis” can be observed.
Once economic reality smacked Mr. Frey and the remainder of the City Council in the face, in spite of leftists’ constant desire to avoid it, a different tune was struck a few weeks later when Minnesota requested federal disaster relief money to clean up the damage left behind by unrepentant looters and losers, which primarily occurred in the “strong as hell” City of Minneapolis.
The “justification” provided for requesting FEMA disaster relief funds, in the midst of Hurricane Season, no less? “Extensive fire damage.” Yes, fire damage, as if the fires in Minnesota are remotely comparable to the natural wildfires that have engulfed the remainder of the planet, but Democrats are never ones to let basic hypocrisy get in their way of endless demanding money.
“We need to come together to ensure Minnesotans who were victims of this destruction have access to critical infrastructure they need so they can go to the grocery store, pick up their medication, and live their lives,” Minnesota Governor Walz claimed. “Together, we will rebuild … “We’re asking our federal partners to step up and help our communities recover.” [Source: Fox News]
Too bad that Minneapolis decided to defund the police at the exact same time an estimated $500M worth of damage was being inflicted across the state, particularly within Minneapolis itself. When the City Council President Lisa Bender of Minneapolis was pressed to justify the mayhem ensuing after the deliberate demonization, and subsequent defunding, of the police, she replied that complaints over police defunding originate “from a place of privilege.”
“Yes, I mean, I hear that loud and clear from a lot of my neighbors, and I know, and myself too, and I know that that comes from a place of privilege because, for those of us for whom the system is working, I think we need to step back and imagine what it would feel like to already live in that reality where calling the police may mean more harm is done.” [Source: The Daily Wire]
By hiring her own personal security, it seems that Bender herself is unwilling to “imagine what it would feel like” to live in a totally lawless society.
Recognizing the clear inanity of this request, the Trump administration issued a resounding “no” to Minnesota’s request. Undoubtedly aware of the media firestorm that would ensure with his decision, over the Trump asserted that FEMA would not provide $500M+ in relief money for Minneapolis’s failure to control its violent citizens and failure to protect its law-abiding citizens.
Even the Minnesota governor likely recognizes the absurdity of his original request to the Trump administration, only stating that he was “disappointed” with President Trump’s decision.
Perhaps by some miracle the Minnesota governor has privately remembered other recent times wherein the Trump administration did approve FEMA assistance to state. In 2019, Trump approved of FEMA funding to address damage from winter storms, while in 2020, FEMA assistance was also approved to mitigate some of the worst effects of COVID-19 in Minnesota.
Will the fake news acknowledge these instances while continuing their merciless campaign against Trump? Probably not.
The basic facts never get in the way of a “good story” for the fake news media, which will never give credit to Trump even if he singlehandedly solves all the planet’s problems, as they’d just attribute this miracle ot “Russian collusion” or any other tired, repetitive tropes.
Trump’s decision to decline providing FEMA assistance to clean up after uncontrolled criminals action will likely attract at least 48 hours of hatred in the nonstop fake news cycle. However, Trump’s bravery will also remain ingrained in patriotic American taxpayers’ for far longer than the minds of low-information, violent rioters.
