Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, really needs to rethink his public demeanor, perhaps after having several dozen showers. Not to mention a desperately needed shave, given his rather unkempt virtual performance (and a performance it was) when interfacing with lawmakers last fall, where he pretended to be largely objective.
Clearly, that pretense flew out the window once the Democrats successfully stole the election, given that big tech rapidly circled the wagons on President Trump before he had even left office.
However, the pretense did not leave entirely, as Dorsey actually had the gall to recently tweet that he feels no pleasure in permanently banning Trump, especially since he’s clearly been chomping at the bit to do so for quite some time.
“I do not celebrate or feel pride in our having to ban @realDonaldTrump from Twitter, or how we got here. After a clear warning we’d take this action, we made a decision with the best information we had based on threats to physical safety both on and off Twitter. Was this correct?
I believe this was the right decision for Twitter. We faced an extraordinary and untenable circumstance, forcing us to focus all of our actions on public safety. Offline harm as a result of online speech is demonstrably real, and what drives our policy and enforcement above all.” [Source: Breitbart]
Right, Dorsey, right. Your conscience and supposed values are beyond inspiring. What’s even more inspiring is your propensity to lie, especially when you claimed that big tech did not collude against Trump.
“I do not believe this was coordinated. More likely: companies came to their own conclusions or were emboldened by the actions of others.” [Source: Breitbart]
Ok, sure. Companies all happened to come to their own conclusions at the exact same time. Within 24-48 hours of each other, actually. By Mr. Dorsey’s absurd logic, then Apple, Amazon, and Google apparently didn’t collude against Parler either.
Which is precisely why the Twitter whistle blower’s tape is so rewarding, as it reveals the way Mr. Dorsey really feels.
Unsurprisingly, the tape includes New Age platitudes that apparently govern Mr. Dorsey’s “beliefs.” Too bad they do so in a rather perverse way.
“You should always feel free to express yourself in whatever format manifestation feels right.” [Source: Fox News]
Well, that’s nice, Dorsey. Except you don’t seem to like conservatives enjoying similar “manifestation.” On the contrary, you actively shut them down. And, as revealed by the whistle blower, that shut down isn’t going to stop at Trump. Apparently, it’s just starting with Trump.
“We know we are focused on one account right now, but this is going to be much bigger than just one account, and it’s going to go on for much longer than just this day, this week, and the next few weeks, and go on beyond the inauguration …
So, the focus is certainly on this account and how it ties to real-world violence. But also, we need to think much longer-term around how these dynamics play out over time. I don’t believe this is going away anytime soon.” [Source: Fox News]
“Much bigger” than one account, huh. And, thanks, by the way, for revealing what all American Patriots know: Of course the censorship will go way beyond the inauguration. After all, the Democrats are just getting started after stealing the election.
Now that they’ve violated one of the most sacred liberties in the United States, they’re clearly taking aim at every other liberty. Including political liberty.
What’s the most despicable of all is that Dorsey is claiming that all of this is necessary to protect the public, yet the biggest elephant in the room is if Dorsey was so darn concerned about political violence, he may have wanted to rethinking praising one of the most brutal regimes on the planet (a regime that, rather hilariously, has not lost its own Twitter access).
Just a couple of years ago, Mr. Dorsey wrote about how amazing Myanmar was, demonstrating total tone deafness to the immense suffering faced by the people he merely glossed over in his thoughtless tweet.
“Myanmar is an absolutely beautiful country. The people are full of joy and the food is amazing. I visited the cities of Yangon, Mandalay, and Bagan. We visited and meditated at many monasteries around the country.” [Source: BBC]
Wow, isn’t that nice, Mr. Dorsey. Did you visit the areas where various individuals are persecuted and abused by the government, and did you keep in mind how much of your money went to further empower this government?
No, of course he didn’t. But, then again, Myanmar already is an authoritarian state, the type he clearly seeks, so no wonder.
Fortunately, Dorsey was called out on Twitter for his insensitivity, and he has yet to remove those tweets (for now).
“Writing what is effectively a free tourism advert for them at this time is reprehensible.” [Source: BBC]
Yup. It is reprehensible to praise Myanmar when it’s actively killing certain segments of its population.
Another user weighed in on Mr. Dorsey’s ignorance to world events.
“This is an extremely irresponsible recommendation … Does he pay no attention to the news and the outcry on his own platform?” [Source: BBC]
Sadly, he probably does watch the news. Mainly in terms of how he can not only manipulate it … but create it.
One can only hope that Twitter is finally put in its place, somehow, some way, but one thing is abundantly clear: As long as Mr. Dorsey permits the most violent regimes on the planet to use his platform, his actions against Trump are even more baseless.
